With the easing of the COVID-19 lock down measures, we are delighted to welcome patients back to the practice. Following the latest Government guidance, we will be operating under a ‘locked door’ policy and seeing patients by appointment only. Please telephone the practice to discuss your eye care needs.

We have adapted the practice to ensure your visit to the practice is a SAFE visit.
We have fitted screens to the reception and dispensing desks. We have clear markings to ensure social distancing and enhanced cleaning and infection control measures in place. All staff will be wearing the appropriate PPE and have been trained in how to use it correctly. If you have access to a face mask/covering we would ask you wear it when you attend your appointment.
For the protection of both patients and staff your sight examination has been adapted too. You will be contacted the day before your appointment to complete a pre-examination assessment. This will include a COVID-19 related health check and the history and symptoms part of your sight examination. By taking this information over the telephone it will allow us to keep the time that you are in close contact with your optometrist to a minimum.
The safest way for us to examine your eye health is with an OPTOMAP retinal examination. This will allow us to view up to 82% of your retina (the back surface of your eyes) – much more than they are able to see in a standard examination – in great detail whilst maintaining a safe distance.
Your optometrist will then carry out the other necessary health checks and review your prescription. There are different techniques that can be used to assess your eyes. Your optometrist will adapt the way they perform your sight test to maintain your safety. You will still have a full and thorough eye examination.
You will be guided by a member of staff through every part of your visit to make sure that you feel comfortable while at the practice.
